Atlantic Capital Bancshares Names Three New Directors

Atlanta, Georgia, April 4, 2011 - Atlantic Capital Bank and Atlantic Capital Bancshares announced today the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors: Marietta "Martie" Edmunds Zakas, R. Charles Shufeldt and Douglas J. Hertz. The three executives will join the Board's current members in helping to guide one of the state's fastest-growing banking organizations. The new directors will bring unique viewpoints honed from decades of experience in diverse industries.

"We are delighted to add the expertise of these exceptionally talented business executives to our Board. All are well known and highly regarded in the Atlanta business community and will add depth to an already distinguished Board," said Walter M. (Sonny) Deriso, Jr., Chairman.

Ms. Zakas is Senior Vice President of Strategy, Corporate Development and Communications with Mueller Water Products. She began her career at Morgan Stanley, and then moved to Holiday Inn Worldwide before serving in an executive position with Equifax. Prior to joining Mueller, she served as Corporate Vice President at Russell Corporation. Ms. Zakas has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics from Randolph-Macon Woman's College, a Law degree from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. She serves on the Boards of Randolph College and The Westminster Schools.

Mr. Shufeldt is a Senior Advisor with Brown Brothers Harriman. He started his career at Brown Brothers Harriman, New York in 1976. He moved to Atlanta in 1984 to join the predecessor of SunTrust Bank and became EVP and Head of the Corporate and Investment Banking line of business until he retired in 2007. In 2010 he rejoined Brown Brothers Harriman and is based in Atlanta.

Mr. Hertz is President and CEO of United Distributors, a privately-held beverage distribution business and one of the top 25 privately-held companies in Atlanta. He is the Chairman of Camp Twin Lakes, which he founded in 1989 for chronically ill and disadvantaged children. He sits on the Boards of The Marcus Foundation, Inc., Georgia Research Alliance, the Woodruff Arts Center and other organizations in Atlanta. Mr. Hertz also serves on the Board and Executive Committee of Tulane University and is the Chairman of the Board of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
